To avoid surprises, families should discuss opening and closing fees when arranging prepaid funeral plans. Some plans may allocate funds for these expenses, but the fees are not always guaranteed and can exceed the set-aside amount at the time of need. It is advisable to specifically inquire about including cemetery professional service fees in a prepaid plan to lock in prices and prevent additional financial burdens.
