Olmsted County Election Security Program | Minnesota

Staff Writer

Olmsted County Election Officials Join State Security Program

Olmsted County election officials are partnering with the Minnesota Secretary of State's Security Navigator team to strengthen election security across cyber and physical operations.

The Navigator team coordinates statewide training that brings together election administrators, law enforcement, IT professionals, and the United States Postal Service. Sessions include tabletop exercises simulating real-world security threats, allowing officials to test response plans.

The team provides templates and tools to standardize election processes statewide and maintains a communications hub for timely updates during elections.

Luke Turner, associate director of Property Records and Licensing for Olmsted County and a member of the Navigator team, said the partnership strengthens local preparation and response efforts.

Olmsted County's election teams apply these security measures at polling sites throughout Rochester and surrounding townships.
