TEECS Robotics Team Places 41st at VEX IQ World Championship
The X-Stream robotics team from Thomas Edison EnergySmart Charter School placed 41st in its division at the VEX IQ Robotics World Championship in St. Louis in May, competing against hundreds of schools from across the United States and multiple countries.
Team members Aarav, Aniketh, Malav, and Nikhil advanced through regional competitions before winning a spot at the New Jersey State Championship at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Their performance there qualified them for the world stage.
VEX IQ competitions require elementary students to design, build, and program robots to complete specific tasks. Teams compete in matches and present their engineering process to judges.
TEECS operates as an EnergySmart charter school in Somerset focused on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
