City of Manassas Launches New Waste Wise App for Trash and Recycling Management

Managing your trash and recycling services just got a whole lot easier. We're excited to introduce the new City of Manassas Waste Wise app, now available for free download on both iOS and Android devices. Residents can also access the same convenient tools through the Waste Wise widget on the City's Trash & Recycling webpage at www.manassasva.gov/trash. From figuring out what to do with an old couch to checking whether a pizza box belongs in the recycling bin, the new Waste Wise app helps residents quickly find the answers they need. The app serves as a one-stop resource for City trash and recycling services. Residents can schedule bulky item pickups, report missed collections, request replacement trash carts, look up collection schedules by address, view holiday service changes, and search disposal and recycling information for hundreds of common household items. Users can even sign up for collection reminders to receive notifications before pickup day. Designed to make City services more accessible and convenient, Waste Wise puts important trash and recycling information just a few taps away. Manassas Offers Housing and Homebuyer Resources

Whether you're preparing to purchase your first home, exploring rental options, or simply looking to better understand your financial path, the City of Manassas Housing and Neighborhood Services division is here to help. Through partnerships with Virginia Cooperative Extension and regional housing organizations, residents have access to classes, expos, and free financial resources designed to support informed, confident housing decisions. The City of Manassas Housing and Neighborhood Services division has partnered with Virginia Cooperative Extension to promote homebuyer education and housing workshops directly on the City calendar. Classes cover budgeting, credit readiness, the mortgage process, and other key topics that prepare residents for successful homeownership. New classes are added throughout the year — check back regularly. The Northern Virginia Housing Expo is a free regional event showcasing homeownership and rental opportunities and resources throughout Northern Virginia. "MANASSAS, VA - Get ready to explore, play and connect during the 4th Annual Play All Day VA celebration on Saturday, June 20, 2026, sponsored by the City of Manassas Parks & Recreation Committee. This community-wide event encourages residents and visitors to experience parks, recreation, arts, history and community spaces throughout Manassas with activities happening across multiple City locations. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., participants can visit destinations across the City to collect stamps on their official Play All Day Passport. Residents who visit each participating location and complete their passport can receive a free treat at the City of Manassas Community Center from 1–4 p.m. Participating locations include: Play All Day VA is part of a statewide initiative encouraging Virginians to make time for play, wellness and community connection through parks and recreation.
