LINCOLN & SOCORRO COUNTIES, NM – Residents in parts of Lincoln and Socorro Counties must seek immediate shelter as a Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 7:00 PM MDT tonight, October 11.

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Albuquerque issued the warning at 6:53 PM MDT. Severe thunderstorms were detected along a line from six miles west of Bingham to six miles north of Carrizozo, moving north at 40 mph. The primary hazard is 60 mph wind gusts, capable of causing damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Affected locations include Carrizozo and Bingham. This warning also covers Highway 380 between Mile Markers 16 and 66.
