Pierce County Fire Marshal Ken Rice, in coordination with local fire chiefs, has lifted the burn ban in unincorporated Pierce County effective immediately, coinciding with the expiration of the Washington state burn ban.Cooler and wetter seasonal conditions reduced the elevated wildfire risk that prompted the ban. Community members may now resume safe outdoor burning. Residents who live in incorporated cities or towns should check with their local jurisdiction for specific burn rules. We sincerely appreciate our community for staying vigilant and taking the burn ban seriously this summer,” Fire Marshal Ken Rice said. “Your cooperation helped reduce fire risk and protect our communities during a period of heightened danger. As conditions improve, we ask everyone to continue making safe, responsible choices when burning.”
