Dense Fog Advisory Issued: Drive with Caution Until 10 AM CDT
A Dense Fog Advisory has been issued for multiple counties in Iowa, Minnesota, and South Dakota, effective until 10 AM CDT today, September 30, with visibility expected to be a quarter-mile or less at times, prompting a warning to drive with extreme caution.
Residents in Osceola, Sioux, O'Brien, Plymouth, Cherokee, Woodbury, and Lyon counties in Iowa, Cottonwood, Jackson, and Dakota counties in Minnesota, and Beadle, Jerauld, Sanborn, Brule, and Aurora counties in South Dakota are advised to exercise extreme caution when driving this morning due to a Dense Fog Advisory.
The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls, SD, issued the advisory at 3:21 AM CDT, effective until 10:00 AM CDT today, September 30. Visibility is expected to be a quarter-mile or less at times.
This dense fog creates hazardous driving conditions due to significantly reduced or rapidly changing visibility. If you must drive, the National Weather Service instructs to slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance between your vehicle and others.
The advisory also affects portions of northeast Nebraska. Stay informed and prioritize safety during this period of low visibility.
