Simsbury Police Citizen Academy: New Flexible Modules

The Simsbury Police Department has replaced its traditional multi-week Citizen Police Academy with a flexible modular format that lets residents attend individual sessions based on their schedules and interests.

The new program consists of six color-coded modules, each covering a specific area of policing and public safety. Residents can attend one session, several, or all six without committing to consecutive weekly meetings. The department schedules each module multiple times throughout the year in morning, afternoon, and evening slots to accommodate students, working professionals, and others with varying availability.

Those who complete all six modules receive recognition for finishing the full program. Module descriptions, session dates, and online applications are available on the Simsbury Police Department website.
