Medical Equipment Loan Locker

The Simsbury Loan Locker is a local source for used serviceable Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and occasionally donated new equipment. The Loan Locker, which was initiated by residents, makes available items such as wheelchairs, walkers, canes, knee scooters, and bed rails free of charge to people in the community who are experiencing a temporary or permanent disability. All pick-ups and drop-offs are arranged by appointment only at the Apple Barn at Simsbury Farms, 60 Old Farms Road. To donate or to borrow equipment, email SimsburyLoanLocker@gmail.com (email is strongly preferred) by clicking the link or by copying and pasting the email address into your message. If you do not have access to email, you may call the Loan Locker at 860-658-3224. Interested in volunteering? This program is a wonderful volunteer opportunity for those who wish to get involved, with very little time commitment. Community members interested in volunteering should reach out at the contact information above. The program is coordinated by community volunteers in consultation with the Aging and Disability Commission. Medical equipment is collected through donations and inspected by a licensed physical therapist.
