Magic Defeat Pistons in Playoff Opener
The Orlando Magic defeated the Detroit Pistons 110-103 in Game 1 of their playoff series. Orlando now leads the best-of-seven series 1-0.
Paolo Banchero led the Magic offense, scoring 24 points. Franz Wagner added 19 points for Orlando, and Jalen Suggs contributed 16 points. Wendell Carter Jr. secured a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
For the Pistons, Cade Cunningham led all scorers with 27 points. Jaden Ivey scored 21 points, and Jalen Duren recorded a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Detroit struggled with turnovers, committing 15 for the game.
Orlando converted 47.1% of its field goal attempts, while Detroit shot 43.5% from the floor. The Magic outrebounded the Pistons 48-42. Both teams shot efficiently from the free-throw line, with Orlando hitting 80% and Detroit 78.9%.
The Magic will host Game 2 of the series.
