DEED Grant to Fund RTP Company Expansion in Winona

RTP Company will create 15 jobs and retain 113 positions at its Winona facility after receiving a $375,000 Minnesota Investment Fund grant from the state Department of Employment and Economic Development.

The manufacturer of custom engineered thermoplastic compounds is investing $6.5 million to expand its plant along the Mississippi River. The City of Winona also provided assistance for the project.

DEED Commissioner Matt Varilek said the grant supports the company's growth. "RTP Company is a major employer in Winona, and we're glad to partner with them on this expansion," Varilek said.

Jim Miller, RTP Company's president and CEO, thanked state officials for backing the project. "This investment will allow us to continue to grow our business in Winona and provide good-paying jobs for Minnesotans," Miller said.

The Minnesota Investment Fund provides grants to companies that create and retain jobs while expanding the tax base in their communities.
