Westhampton Beach kindergartner places fifth in Ranger Rick quarterfinals

Westhampton Beach Elementary School kindergartner Hudson Wolters earned fifth place in the quarterfinals of the national Ranger Rick Jr. competition.

Wolters entered the competition hoping to win the grand prize of $20,000 and meet wildlife conservationist Jeff Corwin. He pledged to donate $5,000 of his potential winnings to the Quogue Wildlife Refuge to support its environmental education and wildlife programs.

The kindergartner has a love of animals, according to information about the competition.
