Dense Fog Advisory Issued for Northwest and West Central Kansas, Southwest Nebraska
A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for parts of northwest and west central Kansas and southwest Nebraska, with visibility under a quarter mile expected, prompting urgent safety measures for drivers.
A Dense Fog Advisory has been issued for portions of northwest and west central Kansas and southwest Nebraska, effective immediately. Residents in Rawlins, Decatur, Norton, Sherman, Thomas, Sheridan, Graham, Wallace, Logan, Gove, Greeley, and Wichita counties in Kansas, as well as Red Willow county in Nebraska, should be prepared for significantly reduced visibility.
The National Weather Service in Goodland, KS, reports that visibility will be one-quarter mile or less in dense fog. This advisory is in effect until 10:00 AM CDT on September 29th. A prior advisory was in effect until 11:00 AM CDT /10:00 AM MDT/ this morning, and a second advisory will be in effect from 8:00 AM CDT /7:00 AM MDT/ to 10:00 AM CDT /9:00 AM MDT/ on Tuesday.
Low visibility conditions can make driving hazardous. If you must drive, the National Weather Service advises slowing down, using your headlights, and leaving plenty of distance between your vehicle and others on the road.
