Drivers across a wide swath of central and southern Kentucky are advised to exercise extreme caution due to a Dense Fog Advisory issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Louisville.

The advisory is effective immediately, beginning October 11 at 9:59 PM CDT, and will remain in effect until 10:00 AM CDT (11:00 AM EDT) on Monday, October 12. Visibility is expected to be one-quarter mile or less in dense fog, creating hazardous driving conditions.

Affected counties include Grayson, Hardin, Bullitt, Henry, Shelby, Franklin, Scott, Harrison, Spencer, Anderson, Woodford, Fayette, Bourbon, Nicholas, Nelson, Washington, Mercer, Jessamine, Clark, Larue, Marion, Boyle, Garrard, Madison, Edmonson, Hart, Green, Taylor, Casey, Lincoln, Warren, Simpson, Allen, Barren, Monroe, Metcalfe, Adair, Russell, Cumberland, and Clinton.

The NWS urges all drivers to slow down, use their headlights, and leave plenty of distance between their vehicle and others. These measures are critical to ensure safety during periods of low visibility.
