Dense Fog Advisory Issued for Pierce, King, Thurston, Lewis Counties Until Noon Today
A Dense Fog Advisory has been issued for multiple counties in Western Washington until 12:00 PM PDT today, requiring drivers to slow down and use headlights due to reduced visibility.
Drivers in Pierce, King, Thurston, and Lewis Counties are advised to slow down and use headlights due to a Dense Fog Advisory issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Seattle. The advisory is in effect until 12:00 PM PDT today, October 5, 2026.
Visibility is currently reduced to one-half mile or less in dense fog across the affected areas. These include the Foothills and Valleys of Pierce and Southern King Counties; Foothills and Valleys of Thurston and Lewis Counties; Lowlands of Pierce and Southern King Counties; Olympia and Southern Puget Sound; Lowlands of Lewis and Southern Thurston Counties; Middle Chehalis River Valley; Willapa and Black Hills; Eastern Strait of Juan de Fuca; Western Strait of Juan de Fuca; Grays Harbor County Coast; and Lower Chehalis River Valley.
Low visibility can create hazardous driving conditions. The NWS recommends that all drivers slow down, use their headlights, and maintain plenty of distance from other vehicles. This advisory is in effect immediately and expires at noon today.
