Cheshire Police Gets $25,000 Grant for In-Vehicle Laptops
Staff Writer
June 11, 2026
The Cheshire Police Department will use a $25,000 grant to equip patrol vehicles with laptops, allowing officers to file reports and complete documentation while in the field.
The Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection awarded the funding through the American Rescue Plan, a federal program passed in 2021. Officers will no longer need to return to the station to finish paperwork, freeing them to spend more time on patrol throughout the community.
The laptops will also let officers document incidents immediately, improving accuracy by capturing details while they remain fresh.
