Williams Diagnosed with Grade 1 Hamstring Strain; Thunder Lead Suns 2-0

The Oklahoma City Thunder announced Jalen Williams sustained a Grade 1 left hamstring strain following the team's Game 2 win against the Phoenix Suns. Williams will undergo weekly reevaluation for the injury. This left hamstring strain follows a previous recurring right hamstring injury during the regular season, which led to Williams missing approximately two months of play.

Head coach Mark Daigneault indicated the injury could have been more severe. Williams averaged 20.5 points on 62% shooting in Games 1 and 2 of the series. The Thunder lead the first-round series against the Suns 2-0.

Williams will travel with the team to Phoenix for Game 3, scheduled for Saturday. Cason Wallace is projected to join the starting lineup in Williams' absence. Ajay Mitchell is expected to assume an increased role as an on-ball guard and secondary scoring option for the Thunder.
