Collier County Clerk Crystal K. Kinzel urges residents to prepare for hurricane season, which runs through Nov. 30. Residents should organize essential records, develop a family emergency plan, stock supplies and acquire a generator ahead of potential power outages.

The Clerk's office added passport photo services at its Marco Island and Eagle Creek locations to help residents meet state requirements for passport applications.

The Board of County Commissioners approved renovations to two courtrooms and relocation of the jury room. Construction begins soon.

The Board will hold budget workshops June 18 and 19 to discuss departmental budgets and constitutional officer funding. Residents can attend or watch online.

County officials are monitoring the State Veterans' Nursing Home property to ensure environmental cleanup and site work finish on schedule. Collier County ranked first on the VA State Home Construction Grant Priority List in 2025, qualifying for $74 million in state funds for design and construction. Local taxpayers added $40 million to the project. Delays in cleanup or permitting could cost the county its priority status or portions of the grant.

The Clerk's Annex displays a commemorative exhibit for America's 250th anniversary, which the nation celebrates July 4.
