Public Service Announcement • Chipley, FL The City of Chipley Public Works Department will be closing the intersection of Church Avenue & 5th Street on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. for water line repairs. The following roads will be closed: Church Avenue from 4th Street to Hwy 77 5th Street from North Railroad Avenue to Watts Avenue. We will update when the road is open. Events & Programs
The Groveland Parks and Community Services Department aims to offer the community fun, family-friendly events every month. These events are designed to build community spirit while supporting Groveland's unique local businesses and organizations. Our long-term goal is to create recurring events that will become beloved traditions for years to come. Highlights include the 4th of July Celebration, the Christmas Parade, and ongoing activities like the 2nd Friday Block Parties at Lake David Park. Alongside our popular Wacky Water Wednesdays, we’re also excited to offer Youth Summer Camps. Over the past few years, we’ve expanded both youth and adult athletic programs, including basketball. Phase 1 of the Lake Avenue Streetscape Improvement Project will enhance sidewalks, crosswalks, parking, drainage, and roadway infrastructure to create a safer and more welcoming downtown for residents and visitors. What's Included? New and improved sidewalks and ADA-accessible pedestrian connections Crosswalk enhancements for improved pedestrian safety Additional and upgraded on-street parking Roadway, curb, and sidewalk reconstruction Stormwater and shoreline improvements near Lake David Preservation of historic brick roadway elements where possible Traffic Impacts Construction will require a temporary closure of a portion of North Lake Avenue near East Magnolia Street. Clearly marked detours will be in place, and access to homes, businesses, and public facilities will be maintained throughout construction. Lake David Amenities Remain Open The Lake David Center, Splash Pad, Boat Ramp, and other park amenities will remain open and accessible throughout construction. Please use caution when traveling near active construction areas and follow posted signage for your safety.
