A sinkhole that swallowed Wymore Road in Maitland on May 15 appears stable after water tests. Orange County plans to begin repairs Thursday if conditions remain unchanged.

Man Charged With Murder After Stabbing Wife in South Manatee Home

Planned Reclaimed Water Outage – Eastern Service Area • Winter Springs, FL From Thursday, October 8, 2025, through Friday, October 9, 2026, City of Winter Springs Utilities crews will replace a valve in one of the main reclaimed irrigation lines serving the eastern service area. As a result, customers in the eastern service area will experience a temporary interruption of reclaimed water service. This repair is scheduled to take advantage of the forecasted rainfall for the rest of the week, helping minimize the impact on customers by ensuring irrigation needs are naturally met. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make these necessary upgrades to our reclaimed system.
Columbus Day Holiday Will Not Impact Waste Collection in Unincorporated Palm Beach County
Garbage, recyclables, yard waste and bulk waste collection will not be impacted for residents and businesses in unincorporated Palm Beach County on Monday, Oct. 12, in observance of the Columbus Day holiday. Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County (SWA) disposal facilities will be open and haulers in unincorporated Palm Beach County will run their regular routes. Residents should place all garbage, recyclables and yard waste curbside by 6 a.m. Solid Waste Authority administrative offices will also be open for normal business, and customer service team members will be available to assist residents with any garbage or recycling collection questions or concerns. Customer Information Services can be reached at 561-697-2700 or [email protected]. Residents in unincorporated Palm Beach County can always see their collection schedule, set reminders, and sign up for collection information by visiting the “Pickup Schedule” page on the SWA’s website. Residents living in one of Palm Beach County’s 39 municipalities should contact their village, town or city directly for holiday collection information. A courtesy list of municipal contacts can be found online. There are only two observed holidays during which residents in unincorporated Palm Beach County will not receive waste collection service: Thanksgiving Day: Thursday, Nov. 26, 2026 Christmas Day: Friday, Dec. 25, 2026 There will be normal scheduled collection service for unincorporated residents on the following holidays: Columbus Day: Monday, Oct. 12, 2026 Veteran’s Day: Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2026 Christmas Eve: Thursday, Dec. 24, 2026 New Year's Eve: Thursday, Dec. 31, 2026 New Year’s Day: Friday, Jan. 1, 2027 More information on holiday collection can be found online, as can additional information about SWA facilities and hours. ### About the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County The Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County (SWA) is a local governmental agency that manages the municipal solid waste generated in Palm Beach County.
