A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Dallas, specifically impacting Selma, by the National Weather Service in Birmingham, AL, effective immediately as of October 9 at 6:57 PM CDT. Residents in affected areas should shelter now as dangerous winds are unfolding.

Peak winds of 30-40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph are forecast until late Saturday morning. The NWS indicates potential for winds up to 73 mph. Last-minute preparations for life and property should be complete.

A Flood Watch is also in effect, with an additional 2-4 inches of rain expected, potentially leading to major flooding, evacuations, and rescues.
