Dense Fog Advisory Issued: Drive with Caution Until Noon Today

Residents in Pierce, King, Thurston, Lewis, and Grays Harbor Counties are advised to drive with extreme caution this morning due to a Dense Fog Advisory issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Seattle WA. The advisory is in effect from 3:57 AM PDT until 12:00 PM PDT today, October 5, 2026.
Areas affected include the Grays Harbor County Coast, Lower Chehalis River Valley, Middle Chehalis River Valley, Foothills and Valleys of Pierce and Southern King Counties, Foothills and Valleys of Thurston and Lewis Counties, Lowlands of Lewis and Southern Thurston Counties, Lowlands of Pierce and Southern King Counties, Olympia and Southern Puget Sound, and Willapa and Black Hills.
The NWS reports that areas of visibility are one-half mile or less in dense fog. This condition could make driving hazardous.
If you must drive, the NWS instructs to slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you. These actions are crucial to ensure safety during periods of low visibility.
