This means tropical storm-force winds are possible within the area within the next 48 hours. Residents should immediately begin preparations for hazardous wind, moderate flooding, and the potential for tornadoes.
Authorities urge residents to act now to secure outdoor items and complete preparations before winds become hazardous. Peak wind gusts of 10-20 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph, are expected, but the potential exists for winds between 39 to 57 mph. Limited damage to porches, awnings, sheds, and unanchored mobile homes is possible. Expect broken tree limbs and potential power outages.

The NWS also indicates a favorable situation for several tornadoes, with a few possibly intense, having larger damage paths. Those in manufactured homes or on boats should prepare to relocate to safe shelter. Listen for tornado watches and warnings and be ready to shelter quickly if one is issued.
