ACTION REQUIRED: Strong Thunderstorm Threatens Irion, Crockett, Schleicher Counties

A strong thunderstorm with wind gusts up to 55 mph is affecting Irion, Crockett, and Schleicher counties until 1:45 AM CDT; residents should seek shelter and avoid flooded roads, per NWS San Angelo TX.

Residents in Irion, Crockett, and Schleicher counties are advised to seek shelter indoors immediately as a strong thunderstorm approaches. The National Weather Service in San Angelo TX issued a Special Weather Statement at 12:56 AM CDT, effective until 1:45 AM CDT.

Doppler radar indicates the storm is tracking east at 30 mph, with potential wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph. This could result in downed tree limbs and unsecured objects being blown around. As of 12:55 AM CDT, the storm was located 13 miles northeast of The Intersection Of I-10 And Highway 290, or 17 miles northwest of Ozona.

Locations impacted include Us-190 Near The Crockett-Sutton County Line and The Intersection Of Us 190 And Highway 163.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring, which may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
