The Grants and Special Projects Division was established in 2024 to develop long-range funding plans to support the city's growth, enhance community welfare and minimize negative financial impact to city programs and services due to everchanging economic conditions. Our division is your gateway to exploring grants that fund innovative projects and sustain essential services. We are committed to transparency and efficiency, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to benefit our residents and stakeholders.We are dedicated to harnessing opportunities that prioritizes our community's need for a sustainable future. Managed by Jessica McElwee, our division has experience in managing federal and state programs including Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP), Community Development Block Grant (CDBG-DR), Florida Boating Improvement Program (FBIP), Community Project Funding (CPF) Appropriations, and Local Agency Program (LAP) Projects. Our team is responsible for administering, coordinating, and supporting citywide grant management and compliance activities. We bring specialized expertise in regulatory requirements, funding strategies, and best practices to ensure the effective stewardship of public resources. The Grants and Special Projects Division also administers the Arts & Culture Grant Program to support support local organizations, groups and individual artists within the City of Fort Myers, and sustain arts and cultural programming in the community.
