Saratoga Springs Schools $166M Budget Vote May 19
Saratoga Springs City School District residents will vote on a $166.1 million budget for 2026-2027 on Tuesday, May 19, with a 3.85 percent tax levy increase that remains below the state cap.
The budget expands the Strategies Special Education Program, adds a modified girls flag football level, and creates a girls wrestling program through a merger. The district will spend $100,000 to replace Blue Gym doors at Saratoga Springs High School as part of safety upgrades.
Voters will also decide on a separate proposition to authorize $2.4 million in bonds for eight 70-passenger buses, five 30-passenger buses, and three Suburban vehicles. State aid will cover approximately 40 percent of the cost.
Three Board of Education seats are up for election. Candidate information becomes available May 1.
Polling locations open at 7 a.m. and close at 9 p.m. at Caroline Street, Division Street, Lake Avenue, Geyser Road, Dorothy Nolan, and Greenfield elementary schools.
Registered voters who have voted within the past four years may participate. The Saratoga County Board of Elections Office in Ballston Spa registers voters from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration forms are also available by mail through post offices, public libraries, state offices, and the MacFadden Administration Building at 3 Blue Streak Boulevard. Voters must be U.S. citizens at least 18 years old and have lived in the district for at least 30 days.
Absentee ballot applications can be mailed to Brenda Roberts, Saratoga Springs City Schools, 3 Blue Streak Boulevard, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866, or requested by calling 518-583-4703. Applications are also available at the MacFadden Administration Building.
