Maple Avenue Robotics Team Qualifies for International
The Water Guys, a team from Maple Avenue Middle School, placed second at the Capital Region SeaPerch competition at Union College and earned a spot at the International SeaPerch Competition in Maryland this May.
Nineteen Maple Avenue students competed across five teams in the underwater robotics event. Students piloted remotely operated vehicles they designed and built through obstacle courses. The Chlorine Commanders, another Maple Avenue team, scored highest on the mission course portion.
The competition evaluated design, teamwork, and problem-solving as teams maneuvered their robots through underwater challenges. Maple Avenue is competing in SeaPerch for the first time.
The Water Guys will compete against qualifying teams from across the country and internationally in Maryland.
