Lakewood Ranch Stewardship District Protects Natural Areas

Lakewood Ranch's Stewardship District manages and maintains the community's parks, preserves, and open spaces, protecting natural resources for residents.

The district manages native habitats, controls invasive species, and promotes biodiversity. It also ensures parks, nature trails, and recreational facilities, including Nathan Benderson Park trails, are safe and accessible.

Water resource management is another key function. The district oversees the health of lakes, ponds, and stormwater systems, similar to historical efforts in Bradenton.

The Stewardship District also educates the community about the local environment, contributing to residents' quality of life.
