Heat Advisory and Dense Fog: SLO & Santa Barbara Beaches Urged to Take Caution
A Heat Advisory is in effect until 8 PM PDT and a Dense Fog Advisory until 9 AM PDT today for San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara County beaches, urging residents to take precautions against heat illness and hazardous driving conditions.
Residents and visitors along San Luis Obispo County Beaches and Santa Barbara County Central Coast Beaches are advised to take immediate precautions due to a Heat Advisory and a Dense Fog Advisory issued by the National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard CA.
The Heat Advisory is in effect until 8:00 PM PDT this evening, October 8. Temperatures are expected to reach up to 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses. To stay safe, drink plenty of fluids, remain in air-conditioned rooms, stay out of the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors.
Separately, a Dense Fog Advisory is also in effect until 9:00 AM PDT this morning, October 8. Visibility may be reduced to one-quarter mile or less, creating hazardous driving conditions. If you must drive, slow down, use your headlights, and maintain plenty of distance from other vehicles.
