Sandusky Launches Online Permits via GovWell Platform
Sandusky residents and business owners can now submit building permits, code complaints, and zoning applications through GovWell, a digital platform the city launched in stages over three months.
The city selected GovWell following a competitive bidding process to replace manual paperwork and disconnected tracking systems. Building permits and contractor registrations went live January 22, code violation reporting launched March 3, and planning and zoning applications became available March 30.
Users create accounts at www.cityofsandusky.com/permits to submit documents, track application status, and access information in one location. Arin Blair, Chief Planner for the City of Sandusky, said the platform improves the process for residents and business owners while streamlining internal review.
Food truck vendor applications launch April 15, with downtown residential parking permits, rental registration, and transient rental permits to follow. City policies and review standards remain unchanged.
City staff and GovWell provide support through the platform's Help Center as users adapt to the new system.
