Sandusky Paint Grants 2026: $2,000 for Home Exteriors
The City of Sandusky is accepting applications for its 2026 Exterior Paint Program, which provides up to $2,000 in paint and supplies to homeowners who refresh their home's exterior.
The grant covers materials for painting the main structure, garage, porches, decks, and window and door trim. Homeowners must complete the work themselves or hire a contractor; the grant does not cover labor costs.
To qualify, applicants must own and occupy the home as their primary residence for at least one year. The home must be valued at $260,000 or less according to Erie County Auditor records. Applicants cannot have outstanding delinquencies with the city or state, and the home cannot be in active foreclosure.
Painting must occur between April 1 and October 31, 2026. Applicants must submit an itemized estimate with their application but should not purchase materials before receiving approval. The city processes applications within two to four weeks.
The paint program runs alongside the city's existing Housing Development & Beautification program, which offers grants for home purchase assistance, exterior repairs, and substantial redevelopment projects.
Residents can find applications and eligibility requirements at www.cityofsandusky.com/housing or schedule an appointment with Housing Development Specialist Debi Eversole for help completing either application.
