Mills Creek Golf Course Reopens April 1 | Sandusky

Mills Creek Golf Course opens for the 2026 season on Wednesday, April 1, after the Erie Soil and Water Conservation District and the City of Sandusky completed a floodplain enhancement project along Mills Creek.

Workers restored 2,640 linear feet of stream, creating over four acres of streamside wetlands and stabilizing nearly 1,000 feet of eroding streambank. They regraded low areas on Hole 3's fairway to reduce chronic flooding.

A section of the Hole 3 fairway near the green will remain fenced during opening while the ground recovers. The hole is playable. The fence will come down later this summer. Golfers should avoid seeded areas throughout the course. A map of affected areas is available at the clubhouse.
