Oconee County Gets $750K Grant for Home Repairs
Oconee County will use a $750,000 Community Development Block Grant to help low- and moderate-income homeowners pay for critical repairs.
The Georgia Department of Community Affairs awarded the grant to launch a Housing Rehabilitation Program covering roofing, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical work, and accessibility modifications.
"This funding will allow us to make a significant impact in the lives of our residents by providing much-needed assistance to homeowners who may not otherwise be able to afford critical home repairs," County Administrator Justin Kirouac said.
The county will partner with the Department of Community Affairs to run the program. Eligibility criteria and application procedures will be available on the Oconee County website in the coming weeks.
