Woodstock & Cherokee County Burn Ban Effective April 23

The Woodstock Fire Marshal and Cherokee County Fire Marshal banned all outdoor burning effective April 23, 2026, citing severe drought conditions across the region.

The ban prohibits yard debris burning, land-clearing fires, and other open flames in the City of Woodstock and unincorporated Cherokee County. Low humidity, prolonged dry conditions, and limited rainfall have elevated wildfire risk. The ban remains in effect until further notice.

Regional firefighting resources have been deployed to active wildfires elsewhere in Georgia, reducing local capacity to contain new incidents if they occur.

Residents should avoid activities that create sparks, dispose of smoking materials properly, and call 911 to report smoke or fire. Check city and county websites for updates.
