San Rafael Fire Department Badges Four New EMTs

San Rafael Fire Chief Abraham Roman and EMS Chief Jason Hatfield presented badges to four emergency medical technicians this week: Kayla Franklin, Miguel Samayoa, Thomas Marinoff, and Berlynn Vargas.

The four have spent several months responding to medical emergencies across the city as part of the department's new Basic Life Support program. Two additional EMTs, DeWitt Miller and Ben Putman, will receive their badges next week.

The program expands the fire department's emergency medical services capabilities and provides additional support to fire crews responding to 911 calls.
