Trump, Vance Conclude Republican Convention with Voter Appeals

Why it matters locally: With California being the most populous state and having the largest congressional delegation, the appeals made by President Trump and Vice President Vance at the Republican National Convention could influence voter turnout and the state's role in national political discourse.

DALLAS – President Trump concluded the Republican National Convention on Thursday by reiterating his support for the "Trump dividend" during his final address. Vice President Vance also spoke, urging voters to cast their ballots for Republican candidates. Speaking on the convention's second and final day, Trump highlighted the economic policy he refers to as the "Trump dividend." He delivered his closing speech as balloons descended around the stage. Vance, in his remarks, called for Republican unity. He encouraged voters to support the party's candidates, even if they held differing views on specific issues.
