A Wind Advisory has been issued for the Riverside County Mountains, San Diego County Mountains, and San Gorgonio Pass near Banning. The National Weather Service San Diego CA issued the advisory today, October 3, 2026, at 12:03 PM PDT, effective until 6:00 PM PDT this evening.

East winds are expected to reach 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. These strong winds could cause unsecured objects to blow around, blow down tree limbs, and potentially lead to scattered power outages.

Drivers, especially those in high-profile vehicles, should use extra caution as these winds can make driving difficult. The NWS advises checking on relatives and neighbors.

The advisory also includes instructions typically associated with heat advisories, readers are advised to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, and stay out of the sun. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles, as car interiors can reach lethal temperatures quickly.
