Padres 7, Marlins 3: Cronenworth's Two Homers Power San Diego to Victory

The San Diego Padres defeated the Miami Marlins 7–3 on Sunday.

The Padres broke a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the seventh inning, scoring one run to take a 4-3 lead. This was followed by a two-run eighth inning, extending their lead to four runs. The Marlins had previously narrowed the Padres' lead to one run in the top of the seventh, scoring three runs to make it 4-3 before San Diego pulled away.

Jake Cronenworth led the Padres' offense, going 3-for-4 with two home runs, a double, and a strikeout. Pitcher Walker Buehler earned the win, pitching 6.2 innings, allowing three earned runs, striking out six, and walking two. For the Marlins, Javier Sanoja contributed a home run, three RBI, and one run scored, going 1-for-3. Sandy Alcantara was charged with the loss for Miami.
