Extreme Heat Warning for Inland Empire: Stay Hydrated, Seek Cool Air
An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect for the Inland Empire until Thursday, October 8, with temperatures up to 105°F; residents should stay hydrated, seek air conditioning, and check on neighbors.
An Extreme Heat Warning has been issued for the San Bernardino and Riverside County Valleys – The Inland Empire, effective immediately until 8:00 PM PDT on Thursday, October 8. The National Weather Service (NWS) San Diego CA has issued this warning due to dangerously hot conditions, with high temperatures expected to reach the upper 90s to 105 degrees Fahrenheit.
Nights will also be very warm, with low temperatures remaining in the upper 60s to mid-70s. These conditions significantly increase the risk of heat-related illnesses.
Residents are advised to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, and stay out of the sun. It is crucial to check on relatives and neighbors, especially those who may be vulnerable to the heat. Do not leave young children or pets in unattended vehicles, as car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in minutes.
