Residents in the Apple and Lucerne Valleys should prepare for strong southwest winds, with gusts up to 50 mph, beginning Sunday, October 11, at 5 AM PDT and continuing until Monday, October 12, at 5 AM PDT. The National Weather Service (NWS) San Diego has issued a Wind Advisory, effective immediately.
The NWS San Diego reports sustained southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph are expected, with gusts reaching 40 to 50 mph. These strong winds may cause unsecured objects to blow around and could lead to downed tree limbs. Scattered power outages are also a possibility.
Driving will be difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles. The NWS advises extra caution for anyone on the roads during this period. The advisory is in effect for the entirety of the Apple and Lucerne Valleys. The advisory was issued on October 10 at 11:31 AM PDT.
