PEPPERELL MILL ROAD WORK AND DETOURS • Opelika, AL

PEPPERELL MILL ROAD WORK AND DETOURS • Opelika, AL Contractors have installed detour and traffic control plans to shut down the intersection of 1st Avenue and 30th Street and Cunningham Drive to install the roundabout. The detours will be begin today, September 9th. The overall roundabout project will take a few months to complete. Detours: * Traffic coming from Pepperell Parkway on 30th Street will need to detour on 3rd Avenue until 26th Street and then go down to 1st Avenue. * Traffic coming from town on 1st Avenue will detour to 26th Street and then turn onto 3rd Avenue to get to Pepperell Parkway at the signal of 30th Street. * Traffic coming from town to get to Cunningham Drive will take the old Mill parking lot that the contractor will have cleaned and striped for two-way traffic. This will avoid the intersection and tie into Cunningham Drive. Thank you for your patience and caution during this ongoing project!

⚠️ UPCOMING SIDEWALK CLOSURE ⚠️Beginning Thursday, September 17th through Friday, September 25th the ADA sidewalk crew will begin construction at the turning lanes at the intersection of Geneva and Columbus Parkway to update the ADA Pedestrian crossing signals. The work should affect only the four turning lanes at this intersection. Each turning lane will be closed at the time the work begins at each corner.
