Flood Watch Issued for Mississippi River at Camanche, Dubuque

The National Weather Service in Quad Cities issued a Flood Watch for the Mississippi River at Camanche and Dubuque on Thursday evening. The watch affects residents in Whiteside, Clinton, Scott, Rock Island, Dubuque, Jo Daviess, and Jackson counties.

The river measured 15.4 feet at 10:30 a.m. Saturday and was rising gradually. Flood stage is 17.0 feet, when water affects low-lying residences in Albany. Forecasters predict the river will reach flood stage by Thursday evening.

Residents near the Mississippi River should monitor water levels and prepare for possible flood warnings. The National Weather Service will issue its next statement by 11:30 a.m. Sunday.
