Strong Thunderstorm Warning for Brevard, Orange, Osceola Counties
A strong thunderstorm with wind gusts up to 50 mph is expected to impact parts of Brevard, Orange, and Osceola counties until 2:30 PM EDT; seek shelter indoors.
Residents in northern and southern Brevard, Orange, and Osceola counties are advised to seek shelter indoors immediately as a strong thunderstorm approaches. The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a Special Weather Statement effective until 2:30 PM EDT today, October 2, 2026.
At 1:57 PM EDT, Doppler radar detected a strong thunderstorm over Lone Cabbage Fish Camp, moving north at 25 mph. The primary hazard associated with this storm is wind gusts up to 50 mph, which could cause tree limbs to fall and unsecured objects to be blown around.
Areas expected to be impacted include Titusville, Rockledge, Cocoa, Wedgefield, and Lone Cabbage Fish Camp. If you are outdoors in these areas, consider seeking shelter inside a building for your safety. This alert is based on radar indicated data and is issued by NWS Melbourne FL.
