St. Augustine: Electronics & Batteries Now Accepted at Solid Waste

St. Augustine's Solid Waste Facility now offers a dedicated drop-off for electronics and batteries, including computers, stereos, and household batteries. Televisions and hazardous waste are not accepted.

Residents of St. Augustine can now drop off outdated electronic devices and used batteries at the City's Solid Waste Facility, located at 501 Riberia Street. The program aims to provide a convenient and responsible disposal method for items that may contain hazardous materials or cannot go into regular trash.

Accepted electronics include laptops, computer monitors, PC towers, CD and floppy disk drives, motherboards, memory chips, mice, keyboards, power supply units, scanners, printers, copiers, toners, DVD and VCR players, stereos, speakers, CB radios, chargers, power cords, cameras, and Christmas lights.

Household batteries, car and tool batteries, and remote controls are among the accepted battery types. For more information, contact Solid Waste via email or by calling 904-825-1049.

Televisions and hazardous waste are not accepted through this program. Residents can obtain specific guidelines for hazardous waste disposal by contacting the Solid Waste Facility directly.

Florida law designates email addresses as public records. Residents concerned about privacy should contact the City Clerk by phone or mail for public records requests.
