Israeli Strikes Kill Eleven in Southern Lebanon, Officials Report

Israeli military operations in southern Lebanon on Wednesday resulted in the deaths of eleven people, Lebanese health officials reported. The strikes targeted multiple locations, including a residential building in the city of Nabatiyeh.

Emergency services personnel and residents searched through the debris of a three-story structure in Nabatiyeh following a strike. Rescue workers recovered the bodies of seven individuals, five from the same family, from the collapsed building. An additional two people died in a separate strike on the town of Souaneh. Initial reports from Lebanon's state-run National News Agency indicated that a woman and her two children were among the fatalities in Souaneh.

The Israeli military stated that its forces struck Hezbollah targets within Lebanon. These actions followed a rocket attack from Lebanon that struck Safed, a city in northern Israel, earlier on Wednesday. The rocket fire killed one woman and injured eight other individuals. Israeli authorities confirmed the fatality. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the rocket attack on Safed.
