Rio Grande City came alive with color at our recent Color Rain Dash! Thank you to everyone who joined us for an evening filled with energy, fun, and community spirit. It was great to see families, friends, and neighbors come together for such a vibrant event. We appreciate Mayor Gilberto Falcon, Commissioner Eudolio Barrera, Commissioner Roger Olivarez, Commissioner Ediel Barrera, and City Manager Gilbert Millan for being part of the celebration. A special moment included Commissioner Ediel Barrera sharing words of encouragement with our youth before the race.A big thank you to the Rio Grande City Police Department for organizing this unforgettable experience. We look forward to more events that bring our community together!
On Wednesday, January 28, at the regular monthly meeting of the Rio Grande City Commission, Sanchez Funeral Home received a commemorative plaque honoring them as Rio Grande City’s Business of Month. Sanchez Funeral Home, which has been family owned and operated since opening in 1932, was started by Abel Juan Sanchez. Jeffery Sanchez, his wife Sonata Sanchez and their staff now proudly run the funeral home which they in turn will soon help transition their daughters into leading the helm. The City of Rio Grande City and Rio Grande City EDC wish to congratulate Sanchez Funeral Home, their family and staff for the 93 years of dedicated service to our community!
