N. Dixie & E. 8th Intersection Rebuild Project

Reece Albert, Inc. is replacing the intersection at N. Dixie Boulevard and E. 8th Street with concrete pavement, improved drainage systems, and safer pedestrian crosswalks. The five-month project proceeds in four phases, with workers rebuilding one corner at a time to keep traffic moving. Each phase takes four to six weeks.

The city chose concrete over asphalt because it lasts more than 30 years and drains water more effectively than asphalt. The new infrastructure resolves longstanding drainage problems at the intersection.

Drivers should expect lane closures and detours as construction progresses through each corner.
