Open Mic Night Columbia | CSSMA June 26 Event

The Columbia-Shenandoah School of Music and Arts hosts an open mic night the last Thursday of each month, with performances backed by a rotating house band.
The event runs 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at CSSMA. Admission is $20 cash or $20.60 by credit card. Musicians, poets, comedians and other performers ages 18 and up may perform. All genres and instruments are welcome.
Performers sign up in person on a first-come, first-served basis at the front desk. Each act receives one slot in the first round, with additional rounds if time allows. Performances run about five minutes.
The house band includes pianist Kevin Bernstein, guitarist and bassist Todd Grunder, and drummer Phil Stewart. Musicians must bring three copies of their sheet music for the band. CSSMA offers copying services at the front desk.
Performers who want to coordinate with the house band in advance should RSVP. CSSMA provides food and drinks during the event.
The next open mic night takes place June 26. Performers should arrive by 7 p.m. to sign up. Copake Wine Works sponsors the series, along with sponsors Iona Aibel, Eric Andrus, Beth Demba, Amy Ecklund, Ben Mizer and Dwight Yellen.
