The Position Hallandale Beach Police Officers are responsible for patrolling neighborhoods, responding to emergency calls, investigating crimes, and enforcing the law. Officers begin their careers in Road Patrol, where they proactively address community concerns. Career advancement opportunities allow officers to transition into specialized units based on performance, skill, and desire for growth. Work Schedule & Compensation ✔ -hour workweek with overtime or compensatory time off.✔ Shift Preference – After one year of service, officers may request shift preferences based on seniority.✔ Uniform & Equipment – The department provides all required uniforms and equipment (excluding footwear). Officers receive $30 per month for uniform maintenance. Salary & Benefits Package Retirement & Financial Benefits: ✔ Defined Benefit Pension Plan – Eligible for retirement after 25 years (3% per year, up to 75%).✔ Voluntary 401(a) Match Plan – The City matches up to 3% of salary for additional retirement savings.✔ Annual Vacation Leave – 204 hours for years 1-7 (increases with service).✔ Sick Leave – 8 hours per month (with sick leave buyback up to 48 hours annually).
