Heat Advisory Issued for Region: High Temperatures Expected

A Heat Advisory has been issued for the Sacramento and Northern San Joaquin Valleys, Delta, Carquinez Strait, and foothills from Saturday, October 4, at 11 AM PDT, until Wednesday, October 8, at 10 PM PDT, with high temperatures of 94 to 100 degrees expected.

A Heat Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Sacramento CA, effective from Saturday, October 4 at 11 AM PDT, until Wednesday, October 8 at 10 PM PDT. Residents are advised to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, and avoid direct sun exposure during this period.

High temperatures between 94 to 100 degrees are expected, with low temperatures in the mid-60s to low-70s. These conditions present widespread Moderate HeatRisk and areas of Major HeatRisk.

The advisory covers the Sacramento and northern San Joaquin valleys, Delta and Carquinez Strait, and foothills. Specifically, this includes Northern, Central, and Southern Motherlode Between 1000-3000 ft; Central and Eastern Colusa County; Sutter and Yuba Counties Below 1000 ft; Capay Hills of Yolo County and Vaca Hills of Solano County; Western Yolo County Including Capay Valley and Interstate 505; Central Yolo and Northeast Solano Counties Including Woodland and Davis; Sacramento Metro and Western El Dorado and Amador Counties; Central and Southwestern Solano County Including Fairfield, Vacaville, and Vallejo; Sacramento and San Joaquin County Delta; Central San Joaquin County Including Stockton Metro; Tracy Triangle Below 1000 ft; Northeastern San Joaquin Valley Below 1000 ft; Eastern Diablo Range Above 1000 ft; Western Stanislaus County Below 1000 ft Including Interstate 5; and Central Stanislaus County Including Modesto Metro.

Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses, particularly for those without effective cooling or adequate hydration. Take extra precautions: wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing, and limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke are observed.
